A visit unforgettable

I have many memorable recreation trips in Pakistan and we had quite some adventures there but this one in Qatar was a different one. Another country, a place we did not have exact idea where exactly we were, a broken down vehicle which cannot be toed with any other vehicle because of its size and the fact that we were in desert. Somehow, we manage to continue our journey back on that vehicle but unaware of the fact that the sea water rises at night and seeps in the sand up to three to four feet turning into quicksand, enough to reach at half the height of the vehicle, making it impossible for vehicles to drive on them. What happened exactly was that our dodge was stuck in quick sand and when we tried to get it out it went deep further. Now the only choice for us was to leave the vehicle get on to dry land and see it sink. We were tired, soaked and a bit worried. We started waving at vehicle passing by (By the way it was 01:00 AM). Some local people came to our help in three vehicles but they were unable to do anything to get the vehicle out. I called the civil defence to help us out; they said that there was no possibility to get there at that time. Then one of the guys called some private rescuer and he agreed to help us out for money, quite much exactly. Anyhow, we agreed. He came in Nissan petrol with wench machine installed; they hooked our vehicle from dry land (almost 50 metes away) and dragged our vehicle out. While dragging it out, the tire pressure was lost. The rescuer, being an expert, told that the tubeless has shifted from its place and can be fixed. He fixed it. Then he toed our vehicle and got us back to point (Sea Line Resort, 45 KM from Doha) where we could find a toe truck to get our vehicle back to Doha. When we reached at that point it was 04:00 AM. Toe truck was called, which arrived after two and half hours and then we reached home at about 7:30 AM. So this was it.

Despite that we all were tired; we enjoyed this adventure to the maximum. The time before the braking down of our vehicle was exciting, we had barbeque. The songs were sung and poetry was recited. Here I would not forget the Qatari guys who helped us arrange the rescue and stayed there until they were sure that both the vehicle and we are save and can get back to Doha safely.

Imprisoned Hear me! Heed me! One more time!! Hear my whispers, hear my rhymes I fright! For I sense my words would soon fade If not uttered; If not heard; They shall perish forever, And never shall wake Artisted, I confess! Crafted and beautified, Indeed they are prettied And mystified But they are real, They are sincere. Prisoned in me for years. They are chested Amid agonizing noise Silent; they are dusted Hear them now For they are fading Free them! For they are long awaiting Take them For I am weary of the keep. In absolution, I want to finally sleep Hear me! Hear me! One last time. Muhammad Ali Monday July 18, 2016

Living!

Sometimes playing safe no longer remains the option. Sometimes it is but living on the edge. If one is not accustomed to it, this can be scary. If someone claims it isn’t, he or she is in a state of denial. This fear, however, can very easily be transformed into self-exploration adventure expedition , if confronted head-on. I see it as leaving the warmth and comfort of a home and camping in the woods for the first time among scariest of the predators, darkness and fear playing at the max. You are always on alert, your defense mechanism triggers itself against the predators, listening to the faintest of sounds and reacting to the smallest of motions. Your sight sees nothing but darkness in the beginning, even when eyes get used to darkness, the visibility remains limited. But when sight partners with fear, it looks beyond limits, exploring further and deeper, analyzing everything and everyone that is or potentially can be a threat or an oppertunity and that is when one learns how...
