The Agreement with Religious Elements for Sharia Law Implementation in Northern Areas of Pakistan

Well! What shall I say, when the agreement for Sharia Implementation in Northern Areas was reached between the N.W.F.P. Government and Mr. Sufi Muhammad, I was happy and totally in agreement with it. I thought that both the parties were sincere in this deal and the lasting peace could be achieved in troubled areas. But I was so wrong. Mr. Sufi Muhammad (I wouldn't call him Maulana as I don’t think he understands the very basics of Islam) started to think that the government has bowed down to his demands and he has a license to do whatever he wants and challenged the very foundations of Democratic Pakistan, plus he was not able to convince all factions of Taliban to lay down heir weapons. The activities f Taliban continued. Killing, extortion, kidnapping, suicide bombings are all the same, nothing has changed. We being Pakistanis are always emotionally charged when it comes to politics, charged to the extent that any reasoning becomes beyond us. We put our loyalties and hatred to a specific political leadership and accept them wholesomely. Once we decide to like or dislike a political leadership, we make them somehow divine creatures. A leader is an angel and the reset demons,  One is saint and all others sinners. We even start living on polars and make it our mission to defend and attack, depends who is who with our hearts and souls.
