A Letter written in wake of imposition of emergency in Pakistan.

An Open Letter to Mr. Musharraf

"Dear" Mr. Musharraf

Let me introduce myself first. I am no politician, column writer, journalist, human rights activist, lawyer, judge or anyone who is in your damned list. I am just a "bloody civilian" who is in search of his identity and grace these days being a citizen of a country used to be called Pakistan, whose name is changed to "Musharraf First".

It is such a shame to be called a Pakistani these days, especially if you are living in some other country like I am. I am being laughed at and ridiculed on my past comments, which I had made about my homeland with pride and honor. Now the same words are haunting me everyday since last three weeks. Your endless and shameless justification of proclamation of emergency were causing us the embarrassment everyday, but today was the height of your audacious claim that USA is with you 200%. My mind was blown off on reading this statement, but as I am an optimist, I thought there is a positive signal to it as well. The history tells us that anyone USA has assured of its loyalty to in general and any Pakistani in particular is doomed. Its not just you will be doomed from Pakistani horizon, you will be doomed from history. I would like to offer my condolences to you on this and congratulations to my nation.

However, if you would like to save yourself to remain in power, I have a free suggestion for you. Lease out Pakistan to USA. By doing this you will be remembered in American History as a hero who handed over a nation to them without any bloodshed, you are quite an expert in it as we saw in bloodless coup in 1999. There are so many other benefits to it. Pakistanis' or should I say "Musharraf Firsts'" will come out of state of confusion and would know exactly who is their ruler. They will be able to live with a clear understanding. The war on terror will be easier for the Americans as it is for them in Iraq. You will not have to face any opposition in sacking the judges, clamping down on media, torturing the lawyers, women, children, human rights activists and the civil society. Think about it! You and your masters will have unlimited powers on all bloody civilians. Quite a temptation! Isn't it?

I read a phrase somewhere "Heroes are not to be forgotten" and so shall we not. Everyone who stood against your acts will be remembered. The judges who refused to take oath under PCO, the lawyers who shed their blood for their country, the civil society members who dared speaking out the truth, the students who had the honest and true vision of Pakistan, the media who refused to bow down against sham liars. Rest assured Mr. Musharraf, you and your loyalists' will be remembered otherwise. I am no fortune teller, but I say this with 400% surety, the percentage double of your claim.

I would also like to communicate a popular advice for you. Stop thinking that you are the most intelligent, indispensable, and the only Pakistani person on this earth who can administer Pakistan. Your claim that after 911, had you not been sitting on President's and Chief of Army staff's position, Pakistan would have doomed. YOU! Mr. Musharraf you??? Do you think that Pakistan is still surviving because of you? You are dead wrong. Pakistan was and will stand tall no matter you would or wouldn't be here.

Regards

Muhammad Ali

Imprisoned Hear me! Heed me! One more time!! Hear my whispers, hear my rhymes I fright! For I sense my words would soon fade If not uttered; If not heard; They shall perish forever, And never shall wake Artisted, I confess! Crafted and beautified, Indeed they are prettied And mystified But they are real, They are sincere. Prisoned in me for years. They are chested Amid agonizing noise Silent; they are dusted Hear them now For they are fading Free them! For they are long awaiting Take them For I am weary of the keep. In absolution, I want to finally sleep Hear me! Hear me! One last time. Muhammad Ali Monday July 18, 2016

The Agreement with Religious Elements for Sharia Law Implementation in Northern Areas of Pakistan

Well! What shall I say, when the agreement for Sharia Implementation in Northern Areas was reached between the N.W.F.P. Government and Mr. Sufi Muhammad, I was happy and totally in agreement with it. I thought that both the parties were sincere in this deal and the lasting peace could be achieved in troubled areas. But I was so wrong. Mr. Sufi Muhammad (I wouldn't call him Maulana as I don’t think he understands the very basics of Islam) started to think that the government has bowed down to his demands and he has a license to do whatever he wants and challenged the very foundations of Democratic Pakistan, plus he was not able to convince all factions of Taliban to lay down heir weapons. The activities f Taliban continued. Killing, extortion, kidnapping, suicide bombings are all the same, nothing has changed. Now some people are saying that they should be given time but I am with the view that the matter is so sensitive that Pakistan could lose and lose fast. The agreement should ...

Deceptions All Around.

We being Pakistanis are always emotionally charged when it comes to politics, charged to the extent that any reasoning becomes beyond us. We put our loyalties and hatred to a specific political leadership and accept them wholesomely. Once we decide to like or dislike a political leadership, we make them somehow divine creatures. A leader is an angel and the reset demons,  One is saint and all others sinners. We even start living on polars and make it our mission to defend and attack, depends who is who with our hearts and souls. Imran Khan, when stepped into Pakistani politics, it was felt that he is a fresh change in long running two party political game. He did take his time building his reputation as a brave, man of principals sort. Everyone thought he is that chosen one who would bring about positive and constructive change in Pakistani Politics. He stood firm on his principals for some time.  But once he gained the position of political divinity among consid...
